Thorsten Schumacher

Born in Cologne Germany, Thorsten Schumacher worked as a freelance music journalist and later founded and ran Sponge, a magazine for alternative music. He then started working in film production, intially for Roger Corman’s Concorde-New Horizon Pictures in Los Angeles, on various independent features in New York City and eventually for Wim Wenders’ company Road Movies in Berlin.
He then went on to study film producing at the Academy of Film and Television in Berlin-Babelsberg and at the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles and graduated from both with Master of Fine Arts degrees.
