Stephan Mallmann

A First Class BA (Honours) graduate in European Business Administration, Stephan has extensive experience in all aspects of the film industry in both Germany and the United Kingdom. In 1989/90 he worked in a business affairs capacity at Oasis Films, a London based distribution and sales company for high quality arthouse films. As a freelance financial consultant he was instrumental in the successful launch in 1990 of the film and television trade publication “Moving Pictures International”.
Stephan subsequently served as Financial Controller at one of Europe’s most active film production, distribution and exhibition companies Constantin Film in Munich.
In January 1994 he joined Recorded Picture Company as a business affairs executive and by 1996 had become a director of the company. In 1998 he worked on the launch of RPC’s sister company, HanWay, of which he became a founding shareholder. In 2001, he was appointed COO of RPC as well as HanWay (now CFO). In addition to his corporate work at both companies, Stephan is involved with the legal arrangements and financial structuring of RPC and HanWay’s film projects. Stephan’s credits include Associate Producer for YOUNG ADAM, GLASTONBURY and a trio of Wim Wenders projects, PINA, PALERMO SHOOTING and DON’t COME KNOCKING. He acted as Co-Producer on Julien Temple’s JOE STRUMMER: THE FUTURE IS UNWRITTEN and as Executive Producer on FESTIVAL EXPRESS, animation features IMPY’s ISLAND and BACK TO GAYA, and most recently on David Cronenberg’s A DANGEROUS METHOD.
